M&T Bank Specialist - Technology and Cybersecurity Risk in Abilene, Kansas

Overview:
Step into a pivotal role within our Technology Risk Management team, where you’ll champion the first line of defense by navigating the dynamic landscape of technology risks. Embrace the challenge of proactively identifying, accurately assessing, and reporting on risks that impact technology. You’ll play a key part in escalating identified issues and ensuring the timely completion of remediation plans, all while maintaining and updating program documents to stay in line with industry standards and our Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead Risk Assessments: Conduct comprehensive and complex risk assessments for our technology systems, identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential gaps.
Strategize and Implement: Develop and execute risk management plans, ensuring Technology and Cybersecurity practices align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Program Development: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining the Technology and Cybersecurity Risk Management Program and supporting documentation.
Exam Preparation: Prepare for and respond to audit engagements, coordinating responses, and managing examinations.
Performance Monitoring: Oversee business unit performance against established KRIs, recommending enhancements to fortify our risk control structure.
Drive Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards, driving our compliance efforts forward.
Collaborate with Leaders: Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to address events that exceed or potentially exceed the Bank’s risk appetite swiftly and effectively.
Mentor and Develop: Mentor newer analysts, fostering professional growth and upholding high standards within the team.
Risk and Regulatory Adherence: Comply with the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls, escalating issues as necessary.
Promote Diversity: Cultivate an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain Standards: Ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit points and address issues raised by external regulators.
Additional Duties: Take on related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Technology/Cybersecurity risk principles
Minimum of 4 years' relevant work experience in/with the specific Technology/Cybersecurity risk area and/or IT Audit
Education and Experience Preferred:
Proficient level of critical thinking and able to lead problem solving
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience partnering with leadership to design solutions
Excellent ability to strategically seek critical information, and apply to specific processes
Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities
Proficient persuasive communication skills to gain buy-in of others
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role. The specific pay range applicable to you may vary based on your location.
