Irish Express is in search of a smart, motivated & experienced individual to join us as a Dispatch Manager. The best candidate will be primarily responsible for negotiating freight charges with vendors and customers; booking & scheduling shipment deliveries and pickups for the flatbed fleet; communicating professionally and respectfully with customers, brokers & drivers; routing drivers to their pick-up and delivery locations; ordering permits for necessary loads; providing support to drivers regarding regulations and shipment details; handling freight claims; handling breakdowns/assist drivers to repair sites when necessary; handling safety issues; recording and documenting safety issues; working directly with drivers toward goals, performance and success.
Additionally, but limited to:
- Communicate clearly with drivers and office staff
- Treat employees and co-workers with respect
- Perform basic computer functions
