Additional Information: Show/Hide This new position will be shared between Robert Martin and Wheatland Elementary Schools. Travel will be required.Reports To: Building PrincipalSupervises: Assigned students/staff membersEvaluation: As per Negotiated AgreementJob Summary: To develop in each pupil an appreciation of physical education as part of general culture; to teach techniques; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the field of physical education; to develop knowledge and skills; to develop traits of respect, responsibility and dedication. This is a shared position. It is anticipated to be between Robert Martin Elem and Wheatland Elem. Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree with appropriate Kansas licensure.

+ Current driver’s license and personal transportation for itinerant assignment.

Performance Responsibilities:

+ Teaches skills, concepts and understandings in all physical education courses as outlined by the district physical education curriculum.

+ Plans a balanced PE program and organizes daily class time so that instruction can be accomplished within the allotted time.

+ Provides instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.

+ Controls the storage and use of school-owned property; makes minor adjustments and requests repairs as needed.

+ Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment.

+ Evaluates each pupil's growth.

+ Plans building events as needed such as a Fun in the Sun event.

+ Selects and requisitions supplies; maintains required inventory records.

+ Communicates with parents and school counselors, when necessary, on pupil progress.

+ Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.

+ Cooperates with the school administration in providing instruction and other events as needed.

+ Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
