The Database Administrator position is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s databases. Optimizes database configuration and access. Resolves database performance and capacity issues. Addresses poorly running reports and queries. Performs database back-up and recovery. Initiates and performs changes on production systems and proactively escalates any issues that cannot be resolved within the established time frames. This position may involve development work.

Position Requirements and Responsibilities

+ Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance with business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance

+ Perform and test database’s connectivity and functionality

+ Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues. Escalate incidents as necessary

+ Recommend, schedule, and perform database related software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases

+ Create required reports in response to business needs

+ Manage and/or provide guidance to other members of the team

Knowledge & Experience

+ Working technical knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and SQL Server 2017

+ Extensive application support experience with SQL Database

+ Experience with SQL data management

+ Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information

+ Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)

+ Experience with backups, restore and recovery models

+ Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics

+ Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) option for MSSQL Server

+ Experience in implementing operation automation using scripts

+ Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

+ Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives

+ Experience with PHP programming

Formal Education or Training

+ College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience

+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Database Administration

+ Proficient with Microsoft SQL Database Administration

+ Certifications in MSSQL or DBA a plus
