We are seeking an energetic, skilled Quality Assurance Manager for an opening in our facility inArkansas City, Kansas (https://www.visitarkcity.org/visit/page/history) .
JOB SUMMARY:The Quality Assurance Manager drives improvement efforts focused on local manufacturing and laboratory practices. This person is responsible for developing the existing food safety program and providing guidance on equipment selection, procedures, and validation activities in the laboratory. This person works closely with customer relations and compliance auditors, demonstrating exemplary leadership behaviors.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Quality Management–
Coordinates actions to ensure company and customer satisfaction objectives are met
Contributes to division goals and objectives for growth
Manages local food safety plan and related pre-requisites programs
Selects laboratory equipment, develops methods, and oversees the validation and calibration programs
Ensure regulatory and audit readiness
Designs reports and metrics to drive continuous improvement
Has a key role within the Food Safety Team
Ensures timely release of finished products
Directs investigation of consumer complaints
Meets with customers and team members at all levels of the organization to coordinate activities related to trials, new productions, new equipment, or significant changes
Participates in and leads audits and root cause analysis activities
Provides coverage for other positions in the quality department as needed
Technical Support–
Shares knowledge of statistical process controls to improve processing methods
Working knowledge of GLPs and can provide support in general food microbiology and chemistry applications
Serves as a resource in validating process equipment and sample testing methods
Offers guidance to the leadership team relating to FDA and PMO regulatory compliance
Social Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with KanPak/GSF Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, management systems, and all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety and other regulations
Act according to KanPak’s Creed & Values
HACCP certification
Sanitation/hygiene training certification
GSFI certification (BRC desired)
Better Process Control School (desired)
PCQI certification (desired)
Six Sigma or other lean manufacturing experience (desired)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Can look at a computer, walk, stand, and/or sit for long periods
Can lift 50lbs
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

The anticipated compensation range is $86,000 - $100,000.
