Description JOB DESCRIPTION: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Performs initial and periodic evaluation of Occupational Therapy patients, designs treatment programs based on evaluative findings and revises treatment programs when patient status changes. Administers therapy programs as ordered by physician.2. Participates in departmental activities to promote continuous quality improvement and maintain productivity at budgeted levels.3. Directs and supervises the application of Occupational Therapy by supportive personnel, including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides.4. Ensures the best possible care, comfort, and safety of patients undergoing Occupational Therapy.5. Prepares, submits, and maintains patient records and reports as required by departmental, hospital, state, and national standards, including Home Health charges and progress notes.6. Communicates with Physicians and other healthcare personnel regarding patient progress, treatment programs, or other pertinent information.7. Serves customers, fellow employees and co-workers with courtesy and respect.JOB DESCRIPTION: NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS8. Serves as a resource for professional knowledge concerning Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation.9. Performs other duties as assigned.10. Arranges and maintains daily schedule of patients.11. Acts as a Clinical Instructor for Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapist Assistant programs sending students to facility.JOB DESCRIPTION: QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent communication skills is patient and pleasant, cooperative and courteous; possesses good judgment; possesses skill in analytical thinking, planning, and organizing.Education:Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from accredited and approved school of Occupational Therapy.Experience:None required.Certification/Licensure:Maintains current registration as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Kansas.Code Blue Training:A minimum training level of BLS is required.JOB DESCRIPTION: PHYSICAL DEMANDSHas good hearing and vision; is sufficiently mobile to travel throughout the facility; be able to exert 50 pounds of force, either lifting, pushing or pulling. Frequent walking, standing, climbing, stooping, reaching also required. Occasional kneeling, balancing and crawling required. Requires patient handling. Eye-hand coordination required for use of treatment devices. Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. May require working under stressful conditions, such as heavy caseloads and documentation deadlines. Exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, hazardous materials, and sharps may occur. Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols. The ability to use office equipment such as telephones and copiers is required. Repetitive shoulder, elbow, and wrist movements are required for some treatments.JOB DESCRIPTION: WORKING CONDITIONSMust be available to work normal business hours Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturdays. Occasionally required to work overtime. Must comply with uniform requirements.
