SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS JOB TITLE:Application Developer II/Sr REQUISITION ID:INF00C6 DEPARTMENT:Information Technology – Topeka General Office or Kansas City Headquarters (Remote Work Eligible) LOCATION:Topeka, KS Kansas City, MO PAY RANGE:Application Developer II: $69,900 - $87,400 Sr Application Developer: $79,100 - $105,400 Scheduled Work Hours:Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Other hours as required). This role will be a combination of remote and in office work, with the ability to attend meetings on-site as appropriate. Candidates who are performing work remotely must live in Kansas or Missouri. Major Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited to: • Collaborate with development team and other IT staff to develop system, interface and architecture standards and perform technical/non-technical assessments.
• Provide technical direction for the development, integration, and testing of all components of the GIS systems to include requirements analysis and functional reviews. • Understand client requirements and how they translate to new application features. Define test plan objectives to meet business requirements and ensure future system reliability. • Review and manage the defect resolution process for system issues and performance. • Provide system support for applications that are available 24x7. Must be able to work outside traditional business hours as required.

Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (or equivalent relevant experience). Should have a minimum 2 years of relevant IT / applications programming experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: • Ability to work independently and drive multiple projects at a time while remaining detail oriented and meet deadlines to deliver high-quality projects • Team members who are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and thrive on collaboration • Experience in the utility sector and knowledge of utility services along with the understanding of electricity, electrical networks, and electrical connectivity preferred • Experience and expertise in the use of geospatial systems relating to databases, system architecture, and integrations with enterprise systems. • Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc. • Experience and expertise in ESRI’s ArcGIS Enterprise platform such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS REST API, and ArcObjects preferred • Experience and expertise in Schneider Electric’s ArcFM/Designer preferred • Experience and expertise with the ESRI Geometric and Utility Network data structures preferred • Knowledge of FME and Python preferred • Knowledge creating, publishing, managing map services preferred • Advanced knowledge of Oracle databases, PL/SQL, SQL • Advanced knowledge of Source Control tools and best practices • Working knowledge of Agile methodology and ITIL tools: Jira/ServiceNow • Strong communication skills – comfortable leading design conversations and communicating complex ideas, goals, and problems understandably to technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels • Continually improve current knowledge on the latest technologies and emerging trends to evaluate innovative and/or alternative approaches for inclusion in departmental strategy.
• Provide leadership and guidance to develop business continuity plans, monitor and evaluate application recovery processes and procedures.

Working Conditions: Combination of remote and normal office working conditions, this role is also responsible to provide support for application software solutions that are available 24x7. Must be able to work outside traditional business hours as required.
