JOB TITLE: Contract Supv REQUISITION ID: FOS00C6 DEPARTMENT: Jeffrey Energy Center LOCATION: St Marys, KS PAY RANGE: $88,500 - $118,000 (Min-Mid) Scheduled Work Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Additional hours as required to supervise planned and unplanned outages)

*Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * Under the direction of the OCM Manager, the Contract Supervisor seeks to improve plant reliability through effective contractor management. Specific duties include:

•Manage projects, or portions of projects, as assigned. •Coordinate, lead, and supervise project, routine, and emergent contractor work & vendor services to maintain uninterrupted operations of the plant in a safe and environmentally sound manner. •Coordinate, lead and supervise the work during outages that enables the plant to return to service in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. •Manage contractor activities including Lock Out, Tag Out, hot work, and other permits, pre-job briefings, work quality, productivity, and cost control. •Actively participate as a team member/leader in the Evergy Generation Outage Readiness (EGOR) process for contracted outage work. •Provide contractor outage scheduling information. •Provide updates of contractor work for assigned projects. •Document contractor work by maintaining accurate historical files for each project managed. •Participate in plant project critiques and incorporate changes in a continuous improvement effort. •Own and maintain accurate contractor backlogs. •Estimate budgets and work scopes for contracted work orders and projects. •Work within the purchasing workflow process to execute contracts / addendums / material requisitions / purchase orders. •Hold contractors accountable for the required elements of the contract. •Provide constructability input for the planning of projects. •Provide schedule/cost updates to management and internal customers during work execution. •Track and forecast expenditures against the budget for contracts. •Take prompt and appropriate action in response to contractor safety and environmental policy violations. •Inspect work performed by contractors in accordance with an agreed upon standard. •Ensure all Contractor Recordable Injuries are properly reported.

*Education and Experience Requirements: *

Five years of experience in a power plant environment. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in most of the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and relevant project management experience.

*Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: *

• Ability to manage projects in a safe manner that provides a quality product on time and within budget. Must be committed to safety as the top priority. • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of large industrial equipment, boiler pressure parts and associated components such as bearings, drives, actuators, and piping. • Working knowledge of safe work practices and hazard control methods. OSHA 10 certification preferred. • Working level knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including team members, peers, superiors, vendors, contractors and other contacts. • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals. • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations involved in planning, estimating and purchasing. • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work effectively in a highly demanding team atmosphere. • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. • Must demonstrate a reputation of trust and transparency. • Ability to lead meetings effectively. • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to, climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds, or platforms and access through manway doors on vessels, large diameter piping, fans, ductwork, condensers and turbines.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required: Must possess a valid driver’s license. * * Working Conditions: Much of the time will be spent in the power plant in a noisy industrial environment. Must be able to respond on a 24- hour per day/seven day per week basis. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
