SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS JOB TITLE:Info Security Analyst REQUISITION ID:INF00BX DEPARTMENT:Information Security – Topeka General Office or F&M Service Center LOCATION:Topeka, KS Kansas City, MO PAY RANGE:Info Security Analyst I: $57,100 - $71,400 Info Security Analyst II: $69,900 - $87,400 Sr Info Security Analyst: $88,500 - $118,000 Scheduled Work Hours:Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 60% in office, 40% remote (Other hours as required) Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: * This position provides support to ensure compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) standards and Evergy Corporate Information Security Policies. The position will encompass the task of overseeing and managing networking systems, while also ensuring the efficacy of firewall-based security measures. It's imperative to accurate documentation concerning vital cyber assets for safeguarding purposes. The individual will operate in a collaborative, cross-functional manner, working closely with vendors, engineers, operators, technicians, and IT personnel. *Duties and Responsibilities: • Under general supervision, support and administer information security controls, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems for corporate information assets. • Research and maintain technical expertise in implementation and maintenance of information security controls. • Make recommendations regarding the corporate information security strategy that support innovation. • Establishes relationships with key personnel to understand business needs and evaluate options for protection of assets. • Identify possible threats to information systems and supporting communication networks by analyzing results produced by using technical security monitoring tools. • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Information Security Program by assisting with the documentation and implementation of plans that deter security threats and minimize the impact of a system breach. • Ensure that information security activities, functions, plans and recommendations meet the risk posture of the corporation and the goals and performance measurements of the Information Security Department. • Ensure protection of corporate assets by assisting with the Information Security business function. • Ensure that corporate policies, standards and guidelines are being followed by coordinating compliance activities with other Information Security Analysts, Human Resources, departmental management and other departments. • Assist with information security risk assessments. • Provide 24x7 support of security controls in a production environment. • Rotational, after-hours operational support (on-call).

Education and Experience Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is typically required in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. CISSP or other industry certifications are desired. Successful level II candidates typically have 3 or more years of experience in information security with the Sr level having 7 or more years. Skills in computer software, technical aptitude, and the ability to learn and utilize new software systems are required. Required to function independently to analyze information and report variances. Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary, especially the ability to present technical information to an audience with a broad range of information technology experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required: • Ability to communicate across the organization and to include outside counterparts in other businesses industry-wide. • Current with knowledge of a broad range of new technologies and corporate information systems as they affect information security. • Skills in Windows or Unix operating systems, technical aptitude, and the ability to learn and utilize new operating systems is required.
• Understanding of basic networking (OSPF, TCP/IP, tcpdump, Wireshark or other packet capture/inspection tools, etc.) required. • Endpoint protection suites such as Windows Defender, Carbon Black, and others. • Understanding and good working knowledge of major firewall vendors • Required to function independently to analyze information and report variances. • Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary, especially the ability to present technical information to an audience with a broad range of information technology experience. • Splunk or other SIEM
