Job Summary:This position will allow for multifaceted experience within the Orizon Aerostructures – Processing facility. The Engineer will verify and observe production processes, productivity rates, and procedures to ensure efficiencies are attainable and processes are scalable. This includes the implementation of “Lean Manufacturing” techniques in a meaningful and practical way as well as development and training of standardized operating procedures for each finishing process.

Opportunities: • Provides technical support for drawing and model interpretation to the production teams. • Participate in the creation of production aids to ensure compliance to drawing and/or model requirements. • Participates in the Corrective Action Process across the facility. • Uses granite plate layout techniques using height gages, scribes, gage blocks, sine bars, scales, radius gages, protractors etc. to aid in the production process. • Operate masking plotter to design and create basic/complex masking decals. • Experimental testing on all types of tapes, plugs and liquid maskants. • Participation in innovative thinking and process improvement activities across all departments. • Research and test new equipment, methods and techniques • Engage Production Supervisors and employees in developing lean manufacturing techniques which will lead to cost reduction and improved efficiency. • Perform time studies of assembly products/processes and provide detailed analysis to ensure actual hours are being forecasted.
