Facility Maintenance Technician
Under direction of the Executive Director, the Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all cleaning,
upkeep and general maintenance of Chanute Recreation Commission facilities, Lakeview Recreational Area and
Lakeview Sports Complex. This includes, but is not limited to, building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, field
maintenance and prep, mowing, janitorial, event set-up/tear-down, general repairs. This is a full-time (40 hours
weekly) hourly position with benefits.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of tools and equipment, maintenance and repairs.
Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment.
Basic knowledge of chemical applications and cleaning supplies, their usage and safe storage and
application requirements.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Docs.
Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work as a team member to establish effective working
relationships with other employees, entities and public.
Ability to work independently under general supervision.
Must be dependable, reliable and demonstrate initiative.
Ability to work in extreme conditions, including extreme temperatures, long hours,
daytime/evening/weekend settings.
Ability to withstand constant motion, strenuous physical activity, climbing, bending, stretching, standing and
sitting for long periods of time, lifting and carrying (100+ lbs).
Valid drivers license with good driving record.
Successfully pass background check.
High school diploma/GED required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain knowledge of CRC mission, philosophy, and objectives.
Perform building maintenance, vehicle maintenance, field maintenance/prep, mowing, janitorial, event set-up/tear-
down, general repairs.
Maintain and prepare facilities for program use.
Ensure that facilities and grounds comply with local, state and federal regulations.
Maintain vehicles, equipment and perform repairs as needed.
Ensure practice of proper safety guidelines for equipment operation.
Work with management staff to plan/schedule preventative maintenance.
Inventory supplies and equipment and inform Executive Director of needs.
Availability to work long and non-conventional hours and schedules as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Status: Full Time Hourly
Pay Range: \$15.00 - \$17.00
