The City of Coffeyville is seeking a full-time Fiber Optic Technician to become an integral part of our team. This person will be responsible to install, test and trouble shoot Single Mode/Multi Mode (SM/MM) fiber optic cables in a Fiber to Home (FTTH) network. Essential functions include installation and maintenance of a FTTH network, ensuring fiber optic systems are working properly, installing, repairing, resolving ethernet (CAT5/CAT6) networks; rectifying fiber optic problem areas; splicing and terminating SM/MM fiber; performing fiber tests with Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR); all functions of splicing fiber optic cable from single fiber to large counts as well as performing ring cuts as needed; installation of demarcation enclosures, switches and other telecom equipment; surveying configuring and installing network hardware and software for both commercial and residential customers.
