The City of Coffeyville has an opening for Human Resources Generalist. This position is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Department in the following activities: coordinates training programs, onboarding, recruitment and other Human Resources related functions and assists the Human Resources Director with all other HR processes and programs; provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and data entry. Essential responsibilities include: providing information on job openings, explanation of employee benefits and wellness programs; handles confidential records, correspondence and reports; maintains detailed and accurate employee files and office records; assists in conducting new hire orientation; conducts recruitment efforts for open positions including coordinating advertising, scheduling interviews, post offer physicals, and background checks; maintains database in the HRIS program and creates reports for departments; prepares payroll for processing; responds to reference requests and verifications of employment.
Successful applicants will have experience working with HRIS and payroll processing; be very detail oriented and have proven work history of working with confidential information, ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader, along with proven communication and organizational skills. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience working in a deadline oriented human resources department. This position requires a Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources or a related field and/or equivalent professional experience. Preference is given to bilingual applicants. This opening also requires a valid Driver\'s License and high school diploma or GED.
This position works Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional overtime required. Wage range from \$19.00 - \$26.50/hourly plus excellent benefits package including KPERS Retirement, sick leave, vacation, holidays, insurance and more.
