GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position is part of the management team. This position coordinates the daily nursing operations for assigned clinics CHC/SEK service area. This RN- Nursing Manager is responsible for organizing, distributing and verifying the work of others and directs adequate training. The Nursing Manager is the resource person for clinical staff and supervises and evaluates performance.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises and/or coordinates the patient care activities within the clinic/s.
- Provides professional and administrative supervision and leadership to the clinical staff; allocates and evaluates work, provides guidance and training and participates in hiring and performance management as appropriate.
- Participates in the interview process for nursing personnel and assures adequate staffing.
- Assist with the development and implementation of a proactive patient care program regarding preventive care, including reporting, and scheduling of patients for annual wellness visits and testing.
- Monitors processes to assure patients continuity of care is achieved and performs nursing chart reviews.
- Oversees the orientation and training of new nursing staff including EHR training and clinical workflows.
- Oversees competency of clinical staff in collaboration with the Nursing Leadership and Clinical Education.
- Oversees and supervises development and delivery of in-service education to equip clinical staff with sufficient knowledge and skills to provide efficient, compassionate, quality care.
- Works closely with the practice management to ensure continuity between administrative and clinical functions.
- Acts as a resource person for staff on matters related to clinic resources
- Provides basic nursing services as outlined in nursing job description as needed.
- Supports all Providers in their care for patients to include specialty specific procedures.
- Provides input on patient complaints and concerns to find solutions.
- Ensures adequate supplies of routine medical supplies are maintained and that equipment is in working order.
- Monitors actions in the EHR to assure timely response in facilitating patient care.
- Participates in quality improvement activities.
