Position Title and Salary:                       Court Services Officer I, grade 36, $26.74 hourly

Location of Employment:                       11th Judicial District, Cherokee County, Kansas

Job Duties:    Supervise a caseload of offenders and who are placed under court supervision. Interview clients and compile information for reports and testimony for the court regarding disposition/sentencing. Maintain timely and accurate chronological records on each client. Identify client needs and make appropriate community referrals when warranted.

Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice, or other human services related field.

Preferred qualifications :  Proven verbal and written communication skills.  A minimum of one year experience in one or more of the following within the past five years:

  • Conducting interviews

  • Writing formal reports

  • Working with juveniles and/or families

  • Working with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health issues
