Position Title

Engineering Manager

Position Summary

Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of the Engineering team. The Engineering Manager coordinates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply teams to develop and guide the program manufacturing and tooling plan. He/she ensures the identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and improves manufacturing processes in support of the type design.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Engineering implementation for all new programs

  • Coordinates and executes necessary changes on new and existing programs

  • Communicate with department managers to set and drive the schedule

  • Uses process engineering principles and techniques

  • Develops, establishes, and guides requirements for assembly, tooling simulations, and manufacturing configurations.

  • Work with General Manager and Department Managers to ensure proper resources exist to support the current programs

  • Develop metrics to show progress and report internally, as well as externally

  • Utilize MRP system to ensure all tasks are being completed as necessary

  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Required Skills/Competencies

  • Knowledge and experience with Catia, and other CAD/CAM systems are strongly recommended

  • Must have experience with MRP or ERP systems

  • Must have excellent computer skills, and experience with all Microsoft applications

  • Must have exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask, as there are many projects going on at any given time

  • Must have the ability to define and translate engineering requirements for assembly, installation, and test processes

Education Required

Must have an Engineering degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Required

5 or more years of engineering experience in the Aerospace industry

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, working at a desk and/or attending meetings.

  • Use various computer and office equipment as well as be able to move throughout the office and manufacturing area in order to talk/hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, vendors, and others.

  • Noise level in the work environment ranges from quite to loud.

  • Employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the plant floor.


Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk working and/or attending meetings with periodic breaks. Must be able to move throughout the office and/or manufacturing area and talk, hear or otherwise communicate with employees, management, customers, suppliers and others. May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment: Normal work environment is a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor.
