This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/10678306 Job Description - Perform scheduled preventative maintenance procedures per plant's preventative maintenance program; as well as component rebuild, equipment repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical aspects found in both production and facility related equipment. Assist production department with product assembly, re-arrangements, carpentry and other miscellaneous tasks when needed in the daily operation of the facility. Support production with emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, plumbing, and gas issues on pre-existing systems. Occasional new project installations. Document (handwritten) records of service, parts used, intervals, and dates on all maintenance tasks. Read and interpret existing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, water, natural gas, and wiring diagrams and equipment manuals to perform daily tasks. Consult with Engineers and vendors who maintain drawings as needed. Adhere to safety regulations always as mandated by Rex Materials and all U.S regulatory agencies such as Occupational Safety & Health Administration, National Electric Code, National Plumbers Code, and all Mechanical codes. Participates as member of the maintenance team with cross shift communication. Ability to work individually, and providing assistance on multi resource tasks when needed. Physical requirements: Manually lift and move items weighing 75-150 LBs. Ability to work in non-climate controlled facility and on feet the entire shift. Perform effective work in wet, dirty, cramped, enclosed, or elevated areas. Employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, sit, and walk. Available for occasional weekend work, and willingness to take phone calls during an off shift from other members of maintenance team if needed. Prefer candidate lives within 30-mile radius of plant. Travel: NA. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE): Worn always as required by the specific task per U.S. regulations. Safety glasses and shoes will be provided annually. Technical Experience: Must have vocational training in mechanical repair, welding, hydraulics, piping, and basic electricity or have had adequate years of structured on the job training (SOJT) in a sizable modern manufacturing facility. Industry Experience: Ideal candidate to have 2+ experience in manufacturing plant. Experience in vacuum casting along with natural gas-powered ovens and kilns would be a plus. High School diploma or GED. Preferred Education: Vocational or Trade school certification.
