Responsibilities
Summary:
This role involves setting up and machining metal and plastic parts for machinery using a variety of CNC equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC mills and demonstrate expertise in programming, setup, and precision machining.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to all safety protocols and personnel policies.
Set up and operate CNC mills, utilizing fixtures such as vices with hard/soft jaws, self-centering vices, and 3-jaw chucks.
Perform a minimum of three setups daily to complete shop orders.
Edit programs directly at the machine and program fixtures as needed for each job.
Execute a range of machining tasks, including milling, boring OD/ID, pocket milling, profiling, keyway cutting, drilling, tapping, and reaming while holding tolerances as tight as .0001" when required.
Read and interpret blueprints to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Inspect completed parts using precision equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth mics, indicators, and CMM) to ensure they meet blueprint requirements.
Document programs, fixtures, and tooling details on setup sheets for future reference.
Maintain a positive outlook and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
