PECNA is seeking a Facilities Reliability Technician – Level 4 to ensure our manufacturing areas meet the highest standards for producing lithium-ion cells by leading predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing systems, analyzing and improving reliability, optimizing facility systems, and ensuring safety and compliance, while collaborating with various teams and maintaining detailed documentation.

Position Summary: PECNA is seeking a Facilities Reliability Technician – Level 4 to ensure our manufacturing areas meet the highest standards for producing lithium-ion cells by leading predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing systems, analyzing and improving reliability, optimizing facility systems, and ensuring safety and compliance, while collaborating with various teams and maintaining detailed documentation.

Essential Duties:

  • Predictive Maintenance:

  • Develop/perform scheduled predictive tasks on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems to ensure reliability and longevity.

  • Identify and resolve potential issues before they cause equipment failure.

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs:

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical system failures and perform necessary repairs as needed.

  • Test systems for efficiency and safety, addressing performance concerns promptly.

  • Competence in using vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and other condition monitoring tools.

  • Reliability Analysis and Improvements:

  • Analyze maintenance data and equipment performance to identify recurring issues.

  • Recommend and implement solutions to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.

  • Ability to interpret data from condition monitoring systems and use it to make informed decisions about maintenance strategies.

  • System Optimization:

  • Assist in evaluating facility systems for energy efficiency and recommend upgrades or changes.

  • Monitor and adjust automated systems (e.g., Building Management Systems-BMS)

  • Participate in projects to enhance equipment reliability, including implementing new maintenance strategies, optimizing spare parts inventory, and training other technicians.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and repairs.

  • Prepare reports highlighting reliability metrics, maintenance schedules, and improvement initiatives.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow safety standards and guidelines, including OSHA regulations and internal safety protocols.

  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and environmental regulations.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with facility managers, engineers, and contractors to support system upgrades or installations.

  • Crosstrain facility technicians on proper predictive maintenance equipment

  • Effectively collaborates with vendors, contractors, and tenants to ensure they adhere to work rules set forth by PECNA with supervision.

  • Maintains appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) checklists.

  • Utilizes CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting.

  • Adheres to all safety and company policies, safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

  • Basic skills and abilities of electrical & mechanical equipment and components including but not limited to the following systems:

  • Compressed Air

  • Electrical

  • Exhaust

  • Process Vacuum

  • Deionized Water

  • Process Cooling Water

  • HVAC

  • Industrial Mechanical

  • Read and identify equipment and fault areas on blueprints.

  • Draft and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP) and Job Safety Analysis.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

  • Support proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment within functional area.

  • Ensure area cleanliness and 6S standards are met.

  • Ability to train others at same or lower level within functional area.

  • Ability to work all scheduled shifts.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education

  • Required: High school diploma, GED or 2 years of prior experience in functional area

  • Preferred: Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2 years of trade school or equivalent

Essential Qualifications

  • 4.5 years of related work experience

  • Ability to use predictive maintenance diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on experience with preventative maintenance, predictive forecasting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of related work experience; industrial manufacturing facilities

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.

  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).

  • Knowledge in more than one mechanical/technical construction trade: Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Boiler Maker, HVAC Journeyman/Mechanic.

  • Knowledge in the use of predictive maintenance tool/systems and their implementation in OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

  • Possess basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • MEWP

  • State Issued Driver’s License

  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional)

  • CPR Certification

  • NFPA70E

  • OSHA 10 or 30
