Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor manages a team of Shift Leads to ensure they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. The individual manages a team Shift Leads that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance. Perform preventative maintenance and repair on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor manages a team of Shift Leads to ensure they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. The individual manages a team Shift Leads that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance. Perform preventative maintenance and repair on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment. The Supervisor with the Manager develop and maintain maintenance and calibration schedules for all tools, machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing facility. The individual also performs supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. The individual will also be responsible for all maintenance related metrics for their shift.

Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating the operations of one or more departments in Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing.

  • Duties include working with leadership to formulate policies and procedures, supervising all operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources.

  • Provide training, mentoring, performance improvement and career development to personnel on shift.

  • Act as advisor to the Shift Leads to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and act as incident commander during facility excursions also manage on-shift escalations.

  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Verify completion of task execution (PM, SOP, SWI, etc.).

  • Communicate detailed plans for work assignments and be the first point of contact for Shift Maintenance Leads regarding issues that arise on the shift.

  • Review activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.

  • Empower, develop, and reward individuals and teams for performance and growth.

  • Ensure that company resources are utilized to sustain safe manufacturing and distribution excellence.

  • Establish and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program with minimum downtime.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education

  • Basic/Required: Bachelor’s degree, technical degree or equivalent experience

Essential Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related trade experience managing a maintenance department preferably in a highly automated factory.

  • 5+ years of extensive experience with troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, familiarity with reliability centered maintenance principles preferred.

  • Must have supported and/or worked shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

  • Experience Managing a maintenance workforce of 50+ Maintenance Technicians in a 24/7 operations.

  • Experience with a large-scale start-up maintenance operation in a highly automated environment an added advantage.

  • Ability and experience leading electromechanical and instrumentation technicians.

  • Lean Six Sigma and continuous process improvement experience.

  • Understand Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concepts.

  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transactional experience.

  • 5S implementation experience a must.

  • Excellent communication (oral and written in English) skills.

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Ability to perform all of the duties of an Industrial Maintenance Technician IV

  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Must have basic Mathematical knowledge and be able to do standard calculations.

  • Must have a basic understanding of Electrical Theory

  • Must have PLC training.
