Panasonic North America Production Supervisor - Nights in De Soto, Kansas

Overview

As the Production Supervisor, you will ensure safe and productive shifts, develop standardized work instructions, train new employees, manage production risks, uphold quality standards, and support plant goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Position Summary: As the Production Supervisor, you will ensure safe and productive shifts, develop standardized work instructions, train new employees, manage production risks, uphold quality standards, and support plant goals in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage the shift safely to meet departmental production targets as set by the leadership.

  • Develop & maintain Standardized Work Instructions used in production by the production associates.

  • Train new associates/employees on SOPs, SWI and Safe work practices.

  • Support the development of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical risks in the production processes with the Manufacturing Process Engineers.

  • Support control plans to assure critical features are controlled through the production process.

  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking.

  • Ensure quality standards are being met throughout the entire production process and support no defects from leaving a station or team area.

  • Lead the establishment and attainment of plant goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP).

  • Consult with Manager and/or Human Resources to resolve employee relations problems.

  • Plan, establish and assign work schedules, assignments, and work orders to ensure department goals are met

  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking

  • Direct, coordinate, lead and mentor the activities of team members

  • Ensure employees receive the necessary training, coaching and experiences to raise their performance level and advance the organization

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Basic/Required: Associates or Technical School degree and two to five years of supervisory experience working in a high speed, automated manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Production Supervisor for a 24/7 operation managing 100+ employees.

  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, as well as with cross-functional groups.

  • Must be resilient, self-motived and able to work well under pressure

  • High volume manufacturing experience strongly desired. Electric component, chemical manufacturing, medical/ pharmaceutical manufacturing experience a plus. Experience with Lean and 5S systems extremely beneficial.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving & communication skills

  • Proficient skills in MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
