We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Position Summary: The Quality Supervisor will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve bugs, defects, and potential issues, ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Supervisor with a strong background in process improvement to join our team at Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America (PECNA). As a Quality Supervisor, you will report to the Quality Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper day-to-day execution of quality objectives, enhance product quality, and contribute to the success of the world's largest lithium-ion battery initiative.

SHIFT: NIGHTS - 12-hour shift, working four days followed by three days off, then working three days followed by four days off.

Essential Duties:

  • Supervise a team of quality technicians, inspectors and team leads.

  • Implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Maintain quality management systems and compliance to the QMS standards, including document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal audit programs.

  • Develop and lead a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors to conduct in-process and final product inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.

  • Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends and countermeasures.

  • Ensure proper implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and improve product quality.

  • Provide quality-related training to front-line quality associates.

  • Communicate quality objectives, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to management and team members.

  • Ensure direct report adherence to plant policies and procedures

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Required : High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred : Associate degree in technical or business field

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management roles within battery manufacturing or other relevant high-volume manufacturing industries.

  • Working knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).

  • Analytical and hands-on problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Extensive knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s production processes.

  • Conflict resolution skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Proven agility in all levels of work processes.

  • Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Collaborative nature with strong team building skills and willingness to learn from and accept guidance from others.

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certification

  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

  • Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)

  • Demonstrated understanding of PECNA HPC.
