We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

Position Summary: The Sr. Facilities Engineering Manager is an integral member of the Facilities Management team. The Manager is a key player in ramp up and in sustaining our operational and maintenance activities. The Manager is responsible for managing assigned groups adding leadership support to all facets of facilities. Additionally, the Manager ensures facilities goals are continually met. The Manager works closely with internal and external key stakeholders regarding technical support for activities and strive for best-in-class products and business practices. By providing clear leadership and vision, the Manager should inspire, motivate, and mentor staff to achieve excellence, and to develop new skills, which is an integral aspect of growing the PECNA team. Must be able to drive Key Performance Indicators across assigned Facilities areas and ensure all projects are delivered with the highest quality standards, while maintaining budgetary guidelines and strict deadlines.

Essential Duties:

  • Ability to effectively lead multi-functional teams in the design and estimating of expansion projects.

  • Assist with the transition of properties into the portfolio from development or acquisition.

  • Drive strategy and direction for Facilities Engineering team consistent with organizational guidelines and vision.

  • Drive and support special projects and strategic initiatives for the portfolio.

  • Manage functional Facilities Engineering team to meet Facilities KPI’s.

  • Empower, develop, and reward individuals and teams for performance and growth.

  • Ensure that company resources are utilized to sustain safe manufacturing excellence.

  • Manage ongoing improvements in facilities efficiency, implementing Lean principles, and demonstrated proficiency in implementation.

  • Coordinate and interact with internal cross-functional teams to fulfill Customer and Company goals.

  • Support the creating and delivery of engineering objectives, facilities services, programs, and contracts.

  • Further develops standards and procedures as business and customer needs evolve.

  • Partner with procurement on opportunities to RFP and/or negotiated service contracts.

  • Work with corporate legal counsel to manage contracts and day to day operations where applicable.

  • Establishes trust and maintains open, positive relationships with team and customers.

  • Conducts regular, formal site condition inspections and develops solutions for systemic needs.

  • Collaborate with PECNA leadership to ensure consistency, lessons learned, and best practices across the Facility.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education

  • Basic/Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or related engineering field.

Essential Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in operation/engineering of mission critical facilities and infrastructure (design, installation, commissioning, inspection, fire/life safety systems).

  • Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a manager

  • Ideal candidates will have supported and constructed large facilities, preferably in advanced manufacturing environments.

  • Experience building and supervising a team or department within a multicultural startup environment.

  • Strong technical leadership with excellent organizational and verbal skills.

  • Knowledge of and comfort with Microsoft Office Suite software including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Ability and proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Able to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize work, and deliver quality results.

  • Self-starter who works well independently and an outstanding ability to follow up with minimal direction by seeking answers and a focus on team success.

  • Able to make appropriate decisions when confronted with obstacles, think about them before acting, and consistently resolve issues in creative and effective ways.

  • A strong work ethic with a “get the job done” approach and consistently delivers excellent customer service, both internally and externally.

  • Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence, advice, and modeled behavior versus micromanagement; excellent interpersonal skills; calm under pressure, able to de-escalate and effectively manage escalations at all levels of the company.

  • A track record of championing speed, flexibility, and frugality in the face of rapid change and extremely heavy workload

  • Solid understanding of sourcing/procurement, building systems and maintenance, engineering, and customer service.

  • Collaborative nature with strong team building skills and willing to learn from and accept guidance from others.

  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multi-discipline projects.

  • Able to respond quickly to potentially critical situations, perform rapid, accurate assessments, identify causes of failures, determine appropriate corrective actions, and implement these corrections promptly to mitigate the effects of system upsets.

  • Proficient with PC hardware and windows-based applications.
