Job Purpose / Duties & Responsibilities

The Business Development Specialist will work in collaboration with the Operations Support and Production Team to provide responsive and accurate quotes, coordinate the Bid/no Bid Team meetings. Continue to grow our external customer business while exceeding their expectations and being customer-centric in on-going support. This position is responsible for communicating and building relationships with customers and suppliers and providing information and requirements into a manufacturing plan while determining the price and lead time for the requested product.

  • Highly skilled at sales and business operations, customer supplier relations, inspire a team to achieve our company vision.
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline for short/medium/long term in accordance with targets.
  • Develop strategies by analyzing new-venture integration.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimate reports.
  • Maintains contact with new and existing customers, continually working to understand problem areas, and developing solutions to address them.
  • Input and update all sales calls, planned, and completed, into a shared CRM platform.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and developing sustainable solutions that can be applied to prevent future similar situations with any of our customers.
  • Support operations to get orders entered accurately and in a timely fashion. Be the liaison between the customer and operations when expedites or special instructions need to be conveyed between parties. Provide customers with quick responses and world class support.
  • Keeps management informed by providing information on industry and market trends, analyses of our competitors (pricing, lead times, etc.), and customer expectations.
  • Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with new customers and suppliers.
  • Attend and represent BG Automation / BG Precision CNC at industry trade events and sales opportunities.
  • Consults with outside vendors to ensure work can be performed within timelines and provide all necessary information to complete the job.
  • Interacts with customers by phone, email, or in person to provide information, process orders, and to ensure the best service possible.
  • Communicates regularly with customers on any number of issues, including but not limited to:
    • Alternative materials when applicable.
    • No Quote/No Bid notifications and alternatives where possible.
    • Recommend changes to improve manufacturability.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments.
    • Responds quickly to customers requests.
