Delivery, Shipping and Receiving Agent

Job Description

Purpose: To make deliveries throughout the district as directed by the

transportation and supply supervisor. Receive and inspect all incoming

freight and forward it to the correct building. Prepare any returned

merchandise for shipment from the service center.

Responsible: Transportation and Supply Supervisor

Salary: Transportation/Supply Hourly Rate Schedule, Level 2

Classification of Employment: Non-Exempt

Date: July 2019

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent education.

2. Forklift experience.

3. Basic computer skills.

4. Valid Kansas commercial drivers license (CDL).

5. Experience driving a 21,000 lb. truck desired.

Essential Functions:

1. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

a. Make deliveries to designated facilities.

b. Keep the shipping/receiving area clean and organized at all times.

c. Inspect incoming freight for damage.

d. Report any damages, shortages or overages in shipments.

e. Check in all freight to district facilities with the purchase orders in the

secretary\'s office.

f. Coordinate with secretary on purchase orders.

g. Work with others in the department as needed.

h. Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.

2. Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

a. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme hot or cold weather.

b. Must be able to work in the heat both indoors and outdoors.

c. Requires prolonged standing and lifting.

d. Must be able to operate a forklift and pallet truck along with 2-wheel

dollies.

e. Must be able to lift heavy boxes on a regular basis.

f. Must be capable of operating all vehicles within the department.

g. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.

General Responsibilities:

1. Make deliveries throughout the district.

2. Load and unload trucks by hand and with other equipment.

3. Work well with others in the department and throughout the district.

4. Be organized.

5. Operate district equipment including vehicles in order to perform assigned tasks.

6. Other duties as assigned by the transportation and supply supervisor or

administrative staff which are consistent with the general requirements and

qualifications of the position.
