*A typical work day may include these tasks:\ *
- Plan and organize special events with heavy emphasis on the Derby BBQ & Music Fest sponsor recruitment, vendor coordination, volunteer recruitment and more.
- Assist with preparation and management for the Third Thursday events.
- Develop marketing materials for Derbys special event facilities.
- Manage social media accounts for the parks and special event facilities.
- Update brochures and manage documents.
- Assist in planning and developing strategies to enhance the Citys image and community engagement efforts.
- Compile information and statistics, coordinate projects, and monitor budgets.
What You Will Need:
- Three years experience in marketing and communications.
- Three years experience in social media management.
- Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop).
- Associates degree in related field.
- Valid Kansas drivers license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.

- Basic photography and graphic design experience.
- Bachelors degree in related field.
- Working knowledge of event management (plan, organize, and execute events).
- Ability to produce accurate work products and meet time sensitive deadlines.
- Team player who is willing to help wherever needed.
