The Production Maintenance Lead at BG Products will oversee Equipment repair/performance, Preventative/Predictive Maintenance processes, and ensuring production requirements are met while maintaining finished product quality that meets BG specs. The Production Maintenance Lead directs, mentors and supports Production Maintenance Technicians.
Duties & Responsibilities
Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times.
Work with contractors and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support: schedule jobs to provide minimal interruption to production.
Leads by example in presenting a professional, courteous image at all times while at work or representing BG Products, Inc. offsite.
Ensure first hour efficiency after a change over is optimal, call backs are minimized, and develop plans to increase efficiencies as needed
Periodically inspect shop equipment for proper operation and safety protocols.
Assist with inventory of spare parts and ensure accuracy of parts checked out: ensure critical parts are identified and stocked as necessary.
Assist with Standard Operating Procedure SOP and procedural generation as required: ensure SOPs are current relevant.
Troubleshoot fluid transfer systems and ensure performance is optimal: assist with development of new processes.
Attends performance improvement meetings.
Ensure departmental goals are met and provide reporting structures as required.
Mentor, train, lead and assist in the development of employees as well as support departments as needed.
Support co-workers and other departments as a team; establishes good working relationships with co-workers and peers.
Ensure safety adherence regarding all safety programs; LOTO, PSM, OSHA regs, etc.
Inspect work areas, tools and equipment in order to detect unsafe conditions; ensure departmental training in these areas are ongoing and successful.
Clean work areas and maintain organization with supplies, tools and equipment.
Ensure proper documentation and communication in the event of substantial downtime is realized or modifications are performed to equipment; follow up with recommendations and subsequent action items.
Periodically inspect shop equipment for proper operation and safety protocols.
Train associates on proper repair/troubleshooting techniques.
Participate in all training and educational activities.
Provide leadership when Maintenance Supervisor is not present.
Performs Maintenance Technician I, II, and III tasks and responsibilities as needed.
Work overtime, after hours call backs as needed; ensure labor is allocated properly. Remain flexible for changing schedules.
Must follow strict safety rules.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge
Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Mechanical Aptitude Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and modification settings. Operations Monitoring and Control Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Controlling operations of equipment and systems.
Quality Control Analysis Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Troubleshooting Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
Design Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Engineering and Technology Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Must possess intermediate electrical knowledge; be able to wire three phase motors and able to read electrical-diagrams.
