Summary/Objective:\ To assist students to reach the levels of educational proficiency necessary to obtain and maintain employment. To provide functional supervision to NexStep Instructional Managers and Campus Coordinators, and functional support to NexStep full-time and part-time Instructors. Assist Director of Education in ensuring adequate staffing levels, professional development and training, and implementation of evidence-based GED, ESL, and WorkKeys instruction. Oversee integrating of WorkKeys, GED, and ESL instructional services throughout all education campuses. Assist with AEFLA grant management. Assist with fiscal management and adjunct pay agreements. Oversee GED and ESL orientation implementation. Manage corrections instruction and implementation. Other assigned functions as deemed necessary by the Director of Education. To fulfill mission statement.\ \ Job Competencies:\ Competencies include organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating various portions of the NexStep program. Establishes an optimum learning environment in accordance with available resources. Plans, implements, and evaluates instructional programs with all staff as needed. Assist the Director of Education in ensuring all school programs and activities conform to federal and state guidelines. Communicates effectively with students and NexStep staff. Works effectively with community organizations.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, data collection and reporting, and organizational communication.
  • Ability to support student-centered culture while maximizing program performance.
  • Ability to collaboratively evaluate instructional teams and special project teams as assigned.
  • Ability to learn to align and implement policy, procedures, and data from multiple sources within adult education compliance and partnerships.
  • Ability to learn and understand the Education Department General Administrative Regulations and the Kansas Board of Regents compliance methods.
  • Knowledge of integrating multiple perspectives in curriculum and implementation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with the public in an ambassadorial role and public speaking.
  • Ability to balance several job functions at one time and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Ability to analyze statistical data for trends and standard performance in various programs and to develop strategies for improvement.
