Kansas Employer Motor Vehicle Clerk /Tax Clerk in Erie, Kansas

The Neosho County Treasurer\'s Office is looking for a full-time Motor Vehicle / Tax Clerk. This position\'s starting wage is \$16.20 per hour, dependent upon qualifications, and includes county benefits options such as health/dental/vision insurance, sick leave, vacation, retirement (KPERS & KPERS457) and more. Applicants will be responsible for registering motor vehicles, processing taxes, balancing corresponding cash drawers, preparing various correspondence, reports, receipts, numerous miscellaneous documents, phone and e-mail communications. This position interacts directly with the public. The person chosen for this position will be required to comply with all state statutes, County, and departmental policies and procedures, as well as, KDOR training and security awareness requirements.

Must be at least 18 years old with valid driver\'s license.

Essential Functions of this position are:

  • Type a minimum of 50 wpm.
  • Use a ten-key accurately and proficiently.
  • Possess ability to clearly and efficiently communicate with taxpayers, county employees, and the public regarding all issues/transactions.
  • Possess computer literacy to perform the requirements of this position.
  • Have basic mathematical and bookkeeping skills, data entry.
  • Keep excellent, courteous, and efficient customer service as a priority.
  • Possess general office and organizational skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work closely with others and maintain professionalism.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3-years relevant work experience and high school diploma or certified equivalent is required. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Special Requirements

Be able to operate various types of equipment standard office equipment, and computers. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office & Adobe software. Other equipment as required.
