Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Exercise Support Planner to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, in Kansas . The selected candidate will join our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), which trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process. The Principal Military Trainer leverages specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises, including doctrinal development, scenario development, and after-action review (AAR) and analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Acts as primary Exercise Support Division (ESD) Exercise Support Planner (ESP) and provide guidance to the Principal Military Exercise Planner
Ensure timely writing, publishing, and delivery of Exercise Life Cycle Event contract deliverables (CDRL) while retaining highest quality by the team
Understands and able to provide guidance on the Exercise Support Manning and Equipment Document (ESMED) Manager
Ensure the manning requirements for the Exercise Planning Travel Management System (EPTMS) are met
Maintain habitual relationship with other Operations Groups Analysts and POCs
Serves as the ESP/Assistant ESP in Simulation Control Plan (SCP) and coordinates with the SCP Lead in the development of CDRLs
Work with other Divisions within the Headquarters Support Team (HST) to develop room builds and determine equipment and personnel needs for each exercise
Manage the movement of all HST contractors supporting an exercise to include synchronizing travel, lodging, and transportation dates.
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional and/or military leadership experience
Must currently possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Must be able to deploy to various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military operations
Proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
Able to write at a college level, with experience in military writing style
Preferred Qualifications:
U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4) equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE)
Experience in an Operational Staff
Salary Range: $69,600 - $104,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
