U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Strategic Operations Analyst in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas

Summary About the Position: This position serves as a Strategic Operations Analyst within the Fielded Force Integration Directorate (FFID), Fort Leavenworth, KS. This is a TERM not to exceed 3 years position. This position MAY be made permanent without further competition, contingent upon verification of the incumbent's noncompetitive eligibility. Responsibilities Apply qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to resolve issues within functional programs. Document planning and programming decisions in appropriate formats to meet requirements. Verify the relevancy, adequacy, sustainability, attainability, accuracy, and completeness of information and recommendations related to assigned tasks. Analyze and develop recommendations to resolve issues of effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in major variety of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) functional programs. Participates in the development and makes recommendations for modifications to systems and programs around doctrine, tactics, and concepts of operations. Participates in strategic planning to improve organizational direction and focus using strategic planning tools and techniques. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Prepare and provide briefings on program operations to senior leaders, 2) Design and conduct comprehensive studies, AND 3) Develop solutions to support command operational and contingency areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- NO substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized. TERM Appointment: This position is a TERM position Not to Exceed 3 years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years. TERM Appointment with option for conversion: To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
