U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Voucher Examiner in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
Summary About the Position: Serves as a Voucher Examiner for the CAC DCSRM. The incumbent provides information and assistance to Approving Officials and other customers on the computation of travel expense entitlements, settlement voucher allowances, status of advance payments, and voucher settlements in unusual combinations of circumstances. Responsibilities As an Voucher Examiner, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Reviews and processes requests for Actual Expense Allowance (AEA) in accordance with (IAW) Joint Travel Regulation (JTR), Army Business Rules and the DoD Financial Management Regulation. Serves as a point of contact (POC) for problems and questions on topics ranging from use of the Defense Travel System (DTS) entitlements, travel policy issues, transaction problems, and payment problems. Prepares and updates installation standard operating procedures (SOP) on travel settlement guidance. Provides customer service in response to both telephonic, in person and e-mail/written inquiries related to travel claims. Answers questions concerning computational methods. Reviews and approves Temporary Duty (TDY) travel reimbursement vouchers for accuracy and/or verifies receipts. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes familiarity with business, accounting, and/or budget techniques to includes utilizing automated accounting systems to assist in processing voucher settlements or verifying account codes and providing customer service via phone, person, and/or email.-OR-Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts. -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer Skills Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Fundamentals and Operations of Accounting Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
