U.S. Army Sustainment Command General Supply Specialist in Fort Riley, Kansas

About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Army Field Support Brigade CONUS West, LSE Fort Riley KS. This is a Planned Management Action open to Current Civilian Employees of the Organization. Consideration will also be given to current Army employees with competitive status. Responsibilities Researches and maintains a thorough knowledge of automated supply and processing procedures. Reviews budget and fund estimates and evaluates justifications. Able to utilize ISM software system to manage and review inventory stockages. Establish priorities and deadlines for installation property book and accountable property GIN staff. Establishes policies and procedures for internal control. Serves as the Organizational Clothing and Initial Issue accountable property officer. Ensures inventory of property is conducted IAW regulatory requirements. Current Civilian Employees of the Organization Current Department of Army Civilian Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Monitor a formal accounting of supplies; Ensure inventory of property is conducted IAW regulatory requirements; Monitor all aspects of operation to ensure that funds and other assets are safeguarded; provide technical support and/or advice on property management activities; and monitor resolution of discrepancies between inventory and supply records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Inventory Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
