Responsibilities As head lifeguard, oversees the accomplishment of work and evaluate pool operation efficiencies. Assist manager by insuring adequate staffing of operations with personnel and the safety of users. Directs lifeguards as required in the performance of their duties. Performs checks and makes adjustments in water quality levels and insures that the pump rooms are maintained and operational. As head lifeguard, supports the management team in decision making and responding to concerns of guests and users. Coordinates and conducts aquatic swimming and water survival training. Attends and or arranges for the conduct of aquatics and safety training. Maintains daily logs and records as required. Carries out work in accordance with policies, regulations, directives, and requirements. Responsible for the safeguarding and protection of funds, property and personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. As head lifeguard, must hold current lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification. 2. Within 6 months of hire must obtain a pool operator's license. A Lifeguard Instructor certificate is preferred. 3. Must have 12 months of experience in pool operation as a lifeguard with experience in swimming instruction and pool maintenance. 4. Must be able to use sound judgment, accomplish tasks within established timeframes, and possess good people skills requiring the ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct manner. 5. Must have experience with office functions such as preparing and managing reports. Please upload certification at the time of application. Will accept proof of enrollment in Fort Riley Lifeguard Certification courses in lieu of certificates. (Hire is contingent on completion/achievement of certifications).
