Army Installation Management Command Recreation Assistant (Water Safety Instructor) NF-02 in Fort Riley, Kansas

Summary This position is located at Fort Riley Aquatics. This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis. This is an Intermittent (flexible) position with scheduled hours between 0-39 hours per week. Responsibilities Acts as water safety instructor. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills. Teach students from age groups of infant through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Work experience related to the duties described above and possession of the following certificates: - Water Safety Instructor Certification - Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - First Aid Certification (Certificates issue by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable) Highly desirable possession of a Lifeguard Certification Upcoming Lifeguard Certification Training Classes: $175 per person/ $100 Active Duty Personnel Time: 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Session 1: May 6th,7th and 13th. Session 2: June 6th and 7th. Call (785) 239-4854 to schedule.
