Summary About the Position: The Supply Technician position is located with the Directorate of Public Works, Work Management Branch at Fort Riley, KS. Responsibilities Enter, retrieve, and update data in an automated purchasing system. Use a government purchase card to procure supplies. Receives monthly purchase card statements of accounts and ensures the statement balances with purchases made. Research supplier databases, catalogs and other publications to extract product information, costs, and availability of supplies. Research supplier catalog databases to locate more cost effective supply substitute available for purchase. Research customer supply problems and takes the appropriate action to resolve the issue. Perform stock level inventories and analyzes the results. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes making purchases for routine supply requests; researching and resolving customer supply problems; and/or inputting data into supply database. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
