Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command - 106th Brigade Regional Network at Fort Riley, Kansas. Responsibilities Ensures effective and efficient IA programs are established and maintained throughout the installation. Ensures all systems connected to the networks meet all established requirements. Performs Certification and Accreditation (C and A) duties for all associated installation Information Systems (IS) and networks. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and scheduling completion. Supervises and monitors the functions of civilian IT specialists and contractors involved with providing IT network security system administration and training support. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Provide technical oversight, establishing performance standards, and evaluating subordinate(s)' performance. Supervises and develops with a team of Specialists to plan, execute, acquire, implement, and document requirements for resources and services related to the IA. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Implementing appropriate policy and procedures for end-users and managers regarding IA requirements, 2) Monitoring the functionality of IT specialists responsible for providing IT network security system administration and training support, 3) Coordinating the standardization of information systems support to include hardware and software standardization, and 4) Evaluating the efficiency of IA capability and structure to redirect resources as necessary. Education Additional Information If you are a current federal career/career-conditional employee, you will be placed on an excepted appointment. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program dated 15 February 2023.
