Schedule: Full time, 40 hours/week. 5 X 8hrs

Call required: 4-6 Shifts per month- Call in rotation with OR team

Assumes responsibility for developing, implementing & evaluating a program of education for department specific clinical population(s). Programming includes initial and ongoing staff competency, standardized department-based orientation for all applicable roles, and continued education as identified by needs assessments and regulatory requirement initiatives. Applies policies, procedures, standards, and regulations as appropriate to department clinical populations served. The education will be designed with department leaders, RN Educator- Specialist, and other key stakeholders to positively influence the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.

What You Bring/Job Requirements:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,

  • Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact.   • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School; of Nursing Required

  • Masters in Nursing preferred

  • Three years of nursing experience relevant to clinical population served. (OR)

  • Staff development, academic teaching and/or project development experience preferred.Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office products and e-learning platform.

  • Operating Room (OR) RN experience required

  • BLS from the American Heart Association required

  • Additional certifications may be required per facility RN addendum. Professional certification preferred demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements

  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

  • Professional certification preferred- CNOR

  • Demonstrates progress in obtaining staff development certification within one year of meeting eligibility requirements

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly).

The surgery department at St. Catherine Hospital has a main OR with four suites, Urology suite and GI Centura Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vet

suite. Our average monthly volume is approximately 450 to 500 patients. We specialize in general surgery, orthopedics, GYN, OB c-sections, urology, plastics and podiatry. We service all age groups except neonates to two years. Our team offers an encouraging environment for individuals to learn, grow and become part of the surgical services family where the team has a willingness to teach new nurses. Candidates must be willing to learn and be flexible.
