Job description-Definition:Under direction of Detention Shift Supervisors, assumes responsibility for the care and supervision of youth in the Detention Center;Does related Record Keeping and Provides approved Programming as specified.
Examples of Duties:Supervises detained youth during School, Meals, Recreation, Sleeping Periods and all other activities taking place within the Detention Center;Maintains Security bycontinuoussupervision to provide for the safety and well-being of detained youth;Completes established Admissions and Release Record Keeping and Physical Processing;Maintains order in the youth group and takes appropriate action in response to rules infractions and disturbances;Makes entries in records and performs other Clerical Duties as needed to formally record juvenile activities and behavior;Administers First Aid and CPR;Passes Medications as directed;Communicates with Parents/Guardians regarding juvenile case information as directed;Communicates with Court Service Officers, and Law Enforcement regarding juvenile case information and Behavior Incidents as directed;Provides limited Counseling to youth; Performs housekeeping duties as assigned or as necessary to keep the facility neat and orderly;Accepts personal responsibility for well-being of facility juvenile detainees.
