SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Feedmill Operator is responsible for all feed production, processing, inventory control
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(Includes the following and others may be assigned)
- Loads and unloads feed and feed ingredients and delivers bulk feed as needed.
- Responsible for assisting in all bulk and bagged feed production and processing including micro-ingredients and drugs.
- Responsible for mill maintenance and repair as qualified or works with a qualified technician.
- Loads and unloads trucks and operates feed scale.
- Ensures good quality feed, grain and feed ingredients by monitoring inbound feedstuffs, conducting facility inspections, monitoring bins, taking and retaining feed and ingredient samples properly, and keeping the feedmill clean and performing preventative maintenance.
- Completes all required paperwork including PM reports, OSHA and safety inspection forms.
- Provides assistance with stocking merchandise, advertising and inventory control.
- Assists customer with sales, checkout and promoting products; responsible for being knowledgeable on products and services.
- Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responds promptly to customer needs, resolves questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meets commitments.
- Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management.
- Maintains a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative.
- Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
- Responsible for wearing Personal Protective Equipment when needed.
- Complies with all state and federal laws, codes and regulations.
- Presents a clean and professional appearance.
- Responsible for prompt and regular attendance.
- Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned.
