ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (Others may be assigned):
1. Maintains qualifications as a school bus driver to be available for substitute driving.
2. Perform service and repair on school buses and vans.
3. Perform service and repair on mowing equipment and maintenance vehicles.
4. Maintain shop equipment and tools.
5. Clean shop on a regular basis.
6. Pick up parts for vehicle and equipment repair when needed.
7. Help in Wash Bay to keep vans and buses clean.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
1. Any and all other duties as assigned by Transportation Director.
2. A classified employee may be transferred at any time to any job which he/she is qualified to perform and when the transfer is deemed to be in the best interest of the district.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience desired in mechanical and maintenance work.
2. Must be knowledgeable in all phases of auto and equipment repair.
3. Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and oral directions.
4. Maintain Class B CDL-with air brake, school bus and passenger endorsements.
5. Maintain Medic First-Aid/Defensive Driving and DOT Physical.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
1. Requires prolonged standing.
2. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
3. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
4. Requires climbing and balancing.
5. Requires driving skills, including ability to operate a vehicle at night.
6. Must work indoors and outdoors year round.
7. Must work in noisy, crowded, stressful environment.
8. Must work in and around dust, fumes and odors.
9. May be required to wear protective equipment, including gloves, for exposure control under limited circumstances.
