FARMERS COOPERATIVE Store Manager - Hanover, KS in Hanover, Kansas
A Day in the Life:
As a Store Manager you will be responsible for the operation and success of the store. You will lead your store team to ensure maximum sales and profits by managing merchandise, inventory, expenses, and operating costs. You will directly schedule and supervise all store staff and will be responsible for the hiring, disciplinary, and termination processes when necessary. You will oversee clerk performance and monitor customer transactions and service for the shift staff. You will be responsible for overseeing the stocking of shelves, set up of displays, preparation of food service products, unloading of product orders, and daily paperwork, banking, and ordering. You will work with the C-Store Division Manager to establish sales goals and margins for the store. You will operate our computer system and food preparation equipment and be able to troubleshoot problems at times. You will greet customers in a friendly manner, answer questions and phone calls, handle money and make change, and assist with purchasing processes. You will ensure the store and store equipment is kept clean, orderly, and compliant according to public health codes, fire regulations, and other state and federal labor laws. You will also assist in training store staff on regulations, policies, and procedures and act as a coach to assist in resolving personnel matters.

You will be expected to keep exceptional personal hygiene and wear the Farmers Cooperative logo at all times when at the store. You will be expected to frequently interact with customers, so customer service is of the upmost importance. You will be expected to maintain high ethical standards as you will work with confidential company information. You will be exposed to cleaning products, fuels, and occasionally outdoor environments. Physically, you will stand behind the counter for extended periods, sit, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift 50 pounds. You will be expected to think clearly, problem solve, work hard, and work more hours during busy seasons. Whats Required:
High School Diploma and/or equivalent
Flexibility with your schedule as you will assist in ensuring shifts are covered for store hours
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in retail store operations
Excellent written and oral communication
Quality customer service skills
Quality time management and workflow efficiency skills
Quality interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
Basic technology skills
Basic mathematical skills
The desire to work for an agricultural cooperative
