About the Position: This position is with the 88th Readiness Division (RD), Reserve Personnel Action Center (RPAC) Wichita, Satellite KS083, located in Hays, Kansas.

Responsibilities

Provide advice to supported soldiers regarding personnel/pay matters.

Train others on the use of automated systems.

Research and analyze a variety of information sources for personnel requirements.

Resolve pay issues.

Review pay actions.

Processes, audits and edits complex pay actions.

Reviews military pay account transactions and reports.

Create, update, and delete data in a variety of files.

Assure files and records are established and maintained pertaining to personnel, finance, and administrative activities.

Provides technical advice.

Develops reports of rejects, trends, and statistical material.

Controls and monitors suspense files, correspondence files, etc.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: performing clerical or administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, filing and data entry; processing a variety of personnel or pay actions; and interpreting and/or applying regulatory or procedural requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest. This position offers a $5,000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed as civilians in the Federal Government. You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a civilian employee in the Federal Government or if you have a minimum of a 90 day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time limited, or not permanent, appointment. Your recruitment bonus will be made in two payments. You receive the first payment when you enter on duty, second payment at your first year anniversary. To accept this recruitment bonus, you are required to make a two year service obligation to the Army Reserve Military Technician Program. If you fail to serve the specified period, you may be subject to repay the agency the recruitment incentive.
