This individual will be responsible for providing technical service and sales support to CHS Agronomy, as well as assisting the Technical Specialists with customer and grower plots and complaint documentation throughout CHS Inc.'s trade area with a particular emphasis on what is determined by the marketing department as “Focus Products.” Regular communication with the Technical Specialists is required. The job will focus on establishing customer plots, tracking plot development and assisting the Technical Specialist with any type of documentation of information related to either plots or product complaints. Furthermore, the individual will be responsible for assisting the Technical Specialists in the development of selling tools and training events. These responsibilities will be focused on efforts to support the marketing direction of CHS Inc. products, especially those identified by the Marketing Department as “Focus Products.”
Assist the Technical Specialists with building customer confidence and proper positioning of Focus Products throughout the company.
Support the “Focus Products” and corresponding technical information that relates to those products.
Participate in and present to customers and coworkers at various meetings where attention is being brought to the "Focus Products"
Establish and coordinate the accumulation of information and data from “Focus Product” plots at customer locations.
Assist the Technical Specialists with the accumulation of information that relates to complaints and the resolution of those complaints.
Assist the Technical Specialists with the training of West Central, Inc. personnel to effectively deliver technical information to customers.
Assist with and provide the Research and Product Analyst to the accumulation of data from appropriate field demonstration trials and replicated research trials.
Evaluate new potential products that could become future Focus Products.
Assist marketing personnel with information needs and technical decisions.
Assist with the development of technical selling tools for use by West Central, Inc. personnel, including but not limited to presentations, technical bulletins, promo sheets, and the Crop Production Book.
Perform other duties as assigned or associated with essential job functions.
Contemporaneous and prompt documentation as it relates to all research, technical data, expense activities and employee matters through various methods (i.e. Microsoft Office products, expense software and corporate accounting/inventory software).
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology or weed science.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in agricultural industry with field research or tech service background preferred.
Technical knowledge, field research and data evaluation skills.
Understanding of the sales support needs and ability to develop selling tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to influence.
Ability to develop and retain business relationships.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Some overnight stays will be required and will vary depending on seasonal business obligations.
Active participation in one or more professional Ag organizations encouraged.

Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to put together meeting presentations on Focus Products & Agronomics and present to the Retailer & Grower.
Sales experience preferred.
