Summary of Responsibilities:
A Process Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining written work instructions to be used to manufacture product. Standardizing processes throughout facility. Revising and implementing changes to instructions when necessary. A Process Technician is also responsible for working with Production Teams to identify, understand, evaluate, prioritize, and solve problems. Primary focuses include, safety of the operator(s) and ergonomics of the standardized work, flow of material through the production stream, and elimination of waste from processes performed. The Process Technician serves as the technical expert for manufacturing processes inside the Production Team.
Essential Duties:
• Create and maintain systems that manage project work visually with input from Operations. (Approx. 60%)
•Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
•Standard Work
•Training Within Industry (TWI)
•Collaborate with Maintenance, SCM, Engineering, and outside vendors to implement countermeasures. (Approx. 20%)
•Use A3 (8 step problem solving) thinking to understand and address operational problems. Work with associates, OpEx leads, Supervisors, and the Production Manager to solve the right problems in the right way with sustainable countermeasures. Develop, plan, and implement improvement countermeasures in response to production problems. (Approx. 20 %)
Examples may include:
• Designing work to achieve flow of material
•Improving ergonomics for a workstation
•Building specifications for new equipment or infrastructure
•Reduce waste in a Process
NOTE: These duties are subject to change as business needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties of comparable complexity.
Education:
• High School Graduate or Equivalent required
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field preferred
Experience:
• 1-3 years of experience in production setting
•Leadership experience preferred
Required Skills:
• Computer Skills (MS Office Suite) - ability to analyze data in Microsoft Excel
•Ability to develop clear requirements lists for internal and external use
•Knowledge of basic production tools/techniques
•Detail oriented
•Communication skills
•Time management
•Lean Manufacturing knowledge
Preferred Skills:
• 2D CAD software (layouts) knowledge
•3D CAD software (parts) knowledge
