Job Title:Crisis Clinician

Job Classification:Salary; Exempt

Reports To:Crisis Services Manager

Work Schedule:1.0 FTE, Monday-Friday; 40 hours/week; Hybrid

Primary Responsibilities:

The Crisis Clinician provides crisis assessment and intervention to individuals of all ages presenting with a variety of intensive mental health/behavioral health needs and make appropriate referrals as necessary for Center outpatient services and community support. Services are completed in office face-to-face and via HIPAA-compliant televideo platform from community locations such as individuals home, local hospital, or law enforcement center. Services are provided under the general supervision of the Crisis Services Manager and as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete urgent/emergent mental health service phone triage, admission evaluations, crisis assessment and intervention, safety planning, hospital coordination for voluntary or state hospital admission.
  • Provide crisis counseling to individuals with severe mental health/behavioral needs and collaborate with collateralsupportsand contacts as necessary (family, school, hospital, law enforcement).
  • Conduct intake assessments withappropriate referralsfor other services, diagnostic evaluation, and development ofinitialtreatment plans with client and family.
  • Provide individual, family,groupand couples psychotherapy/counseling services in the office setting and via HIPAA-complianttelevideoplatform using evidence-based practices
  • Consult and coordinate with other professionals and external providers for treatment coordination.
  • Makeappropriate referralsto needed Center services and community supports.
  • Produces client-related service records andmaintainsaccurateand up-to-date documentation consistent with agency policies and procedures.
  • All services must beprovided undergeneralsupervision of the CrisisServices Managerand conductedin accordance withcurrent agency policies and procedures.
  • Receives on-going supervision from the CrisisServices Manager.
  • Maintains current State of Kansas licensure requirements and adheres to professional ethical guidelines and state/federal laws.
  • Performs other duties as reasonably assigned by supervisor which are consistent with the position and in compliance with agency policies and procedures.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to focus on computer screens for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five pounds
