B&W Trailer Hitches in Humboldt Kansas is looking for a hard-working individual to join our Construction Crew. This crew does a wide variety of jobs including building repairs, remodeling, new construction, cement pours, community projects as well as a wide range other construction projects. Experience in working on relevant projects and using equipment is essential. You must have physical strength, endurance, and work well with your hands. Being good in collaboration and following instructions and safety rules are also important. Working hours will be 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday Friday; overtime (at 5:00am a necessity); Saturday OT as needed based on project. Good attendance is a must.
Responsibilities
1. Assist tradesmen and machine operation in construction projects
1. Erect and break up scaffolding, ramps etc. with attention to safety
1. Unload and carry materials at construction sites
1. Use equipment to break old forms and structures
1. Demolish structures according to instructions
1. Prepare and apply construction materials to build structures or fill gaps (e.g. cement)
1. Smooth and level new concrete or other materials
1. Clean out site from debris and discarded material
1. Carpentry skills required
Requirements and skills
1. Proven experience as construction and carpentry worker
1. Experience in operating equipment like trench rammers, drills, pneumatic hammers etc.
1. Knowledge of mixing and pouring construction material (concrete, sand, grout etc.)
1. Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
1. Able to work in a team and follow directions
1. Able to read instructions and blueprints when needed
1. Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
High school diploma or equivalent
