Subject: Electrical Instrument Serviceman I

The Monarch Cement Company is seeking to fill the position of Electrical Instrument Serviceman I for the Humboldt, Kansas plant. Deadline for applications is December 6, 2024. This is a union position and starting wage begins at \$35.08/hour with additional pay for working shifts. Shift work is a good probability.

To be considered for the position a candidate must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, successfully complete a pre-hire physical, drug screen and background check, and possess a valid state issued drivers license. This position also requires the candidate to be capable of following oral and/or written instructions and able to accomplish duties in a safe and systematic matter. This position requires some college education related to electrical systems, technical certification and/or verifiable electrical experience such as an apprenticeship program and a WorkReady Certificate through KansasWorks is preferred. Successful candidates must successfully complete and pass screening tests for this occupation.

This position will include working in a department with other electricians and technical personnel for the safe and effective service, installation, and troubleshooting of a wide variety of electrical equipment including a 4160V and 480V power distribution and motor controls, and a vast array of instrumentation and controls. The successful candidate should have prior experience with the use of basic tools and test equipment associated with this job and be required to learn the operation of all cement making equipment. Ability to be trained and safely operate specialty tools, forklifts, manlifts, hoists and other equipment. Also work requires walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders and stairs, working in elevated areas and confined spaces.
