B & W Trailer Hitches is accepting application for the Paint Line, qualified applicants can apply direct. Summary of job function: Responsible for Inspection and Packaging of product. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities: Work duties in the Inspection and Packaging area include: Construction of the corrugated boxes, Inspection of the product, Packaging of hitch parts and associated hardware into boxes. Assembly of Gates, Bunks, RBF, and other Ag related products. Affixing applicable stickers/decals on product. Adding protective spacer material on some parts. Stapling, taping, labeling and stamping each corrugated box. Stacking completed boxes on pallets Operators must visually inspect all parts to be hung on the line for nonconforming welds, excessive rust, surface damage, and other defects before they are hung on the line. Operators are responsible for determining if a weld is acceptable. Must inspect hooks to ensure no excess paint buildup. Locate daily production schedule to determine which parts must be hung on the line and the quantity needed. Ability to determine, depending on parts, what to do to ensure that there will be no imperfections in the powder coat surface finish. When changing over the hanging of parts from one product to another operator must leave appropriate bar gab to allow operators in the paint booth time to adjust their paint guns. Receive daily instructions from Production Supervisor. Occasionally it may be necessary to assemble bolt bags manually. Perform daily maintenance checks on machines and/or equipment, report concerns to supervisor. Basic knowledge of the use of measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measure Following all safety policies and procedures Must be able to work in a fast-paced teamwork environment. Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner. Arrives to work, meetings, appointments, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled. Must have the ability to clock in and off operations according to sequence number start date of the work order on Shop Floor. REFER to Work Instructions for further details. Skills and Knowledge: Basic understanding of Blueprint reading and basic math skills. Ability to clearly communicate, understand and write in English. Ability to interact and work from oral and written instructions. Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as, safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, and Company policies and procedures. Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity. Ability to assist in other work- related areas as required. All employees will be cross trained in different areas of the department and pieces of equipment. Ability to operate a fork truck Ability to work daily and weekly overtime as required. Ability to learn computer skills required. Ability to keep the area clean and orderly. Job Qualifications: 18 years of age and pass pre-employment and random drug screens. Previous experience preferred but not required. Must be self motivated and organized, and have the ability to be self-supervised.
