ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


+ Identify customer requirements to ensure that the product designs and agronomic performance meet customer requirement objectives.


+ Track and report key quality metrics and establish plans to consistently improve key quality metrics.


+ Create and execute product reliability development process.


+ Use continuous improvement processes to improve the quality, reliability, durability and functional performance of our products.


+ Apply analytical and statistical techniques to problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities.


+ Assist Manufacturing and Design Engineering with prototype units to determine undocumented quality requirements and/or test procedures that should be added to the Quality Requirements


+ Actively monitor verification, validation, and reliability status on projects; documenting results and regularly reporting to the organization.


+ Coordinate/drive root-cause investigations and improvements as reliability, durability or performance issues arise.


+ Advise and confer with design engineers in review meetings to give reliability and performance findings and recommendations.


+ Evaluate Engineering designs from a reliability and functional performance


+ Work with outside labs to define and validate reliability requirements.


+ Travel up to 50% both domestically and some internationally


+ Lead, develop, and implement lab or field test efforts in support of Stage Gate Product Development Process to ensure products meet company and customer expectations.


+ Develop and document standard test procedures and required test goals to achieve reliability and durability objectives.


+ Measure loads in field and lab conditions using strain gages and data collection instrumentation leading to development of load histories in support of product design and FEA requirements.




DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


+ Experience in manufacturing and production processes producing Agricultural equipment or similar products


+ Knowledge of function and application of agricultural equipment, preferable tillage equipment.


+ Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and presentations)


+ Able to apply analytical and statistical techniques to problem solving


+ Competency in solving scientific, mechanical, and technical problems


+ The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people


+ Hands on experience with test fixtures and accelerated component testing.


+ Experience with applying strain gages and using data collection instrumentation.


+ Good organizational and time management skills


+ This is not for the inexperienced- this position is responsible for delivering the ‘know-how’ within the workplace


+ Experience in a Stage Gate Product Development Process project environment.


+ High level skills in product test and development


+ Project management and demonstrated leadership skills.


+ Performs other duties as assigned


+ Familiarity with Pro/E or similar 3D modeling


+ PC skills - Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project
